Can You Train a Cat?

Outdoor cat care during Warm Summer Months: Cats need access to fresh water, particularly during the summer. For outdoor cats, it is advisable to put several bowls of water at different places in your yard. This enables your cat to find fresh, clean water at all times! Food however, can be placed in one dish in an easily accessible spot. As the days get warmer, you may notice your cat shedding fur. Don’t worry!

This is normal! The best way to keep your cat comfortable, and groomed is to purchase a brush. Let your cat get used to being brushed by starting slowly, and only work for a few minutes at a time. When you brush your cat’s fur, stoke the brush along with the growth of hair and not in the opposite way. You kitty may get annoyed and become upset with your back combing ! Though it can demand lot of time looking after outdoor cat, the company such cat gives you makes it time well spent Cats have always been highly regarded as intelligent animals, and were even revered in ancient Egypt.

House cats can be hard to train because they are stubborn and independent. Sometimes, however, cat behavior training is possible. Since cats naturally eliminate in soil, teaching them to use the ’soil’ in a litter box is a typical, and easily accomplished, task for cat owners. If you’re patient, you can teach your cat to perform tricks like ringing a doorbell or playing dead. Cats are able to learn tricks, and the simplest ones to teach them are the ones that parallel their natural instincts; for example, interacting with a cat toy. Dogs are much easier to coach as they can be aggravated by a diversity of plunder as cats are characteristically only aggravated by self-interest.

You will defeat your purpose if you attempt to train your cat using punitive methods, as they have minds of their own and are sometimes reticent about being trained anyway. In general, dogs are much easier to train and much less frustrating; they can be taught a greater variety of tricks in substantially less time. I would recommend buying a dog instead of a cat any day. Im no expert on the subject of cat health care, but I am fully aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy feline pet. Since Im not an expert, I ensure that I regularly take my cats to my vet practice for checkups.

Its easy to remember to do this since my vet mails me a reminder card every time something is required. Shots and regular check-ups should not be skipped if you are to ensure a healthy cat in your household. Sometimes between scheduled vet visits you can tell something is wrong. If your cat is lethargic, or her coat seems dull, or she is off her food, these can be signs that your cat is not in good health. In these circumstances it is a good idea to take your pet in to your vet for an examination. After all, thats what you would do for yourself if you were not feeling well.
