I don’t know of someone who is fond of moving. As for me, I hate having to relocate. It’s a very unorganized situation that one has no control of, especially if one has small children and pets. When moving with animals and children, things get quite hectic at times.
If you are moving with animals, you will want to remember a few easy things. You will need to start with the home you are looking at to move to. If it’s a rental, then folks have to be sure that a pet is allowed on the property. Those rentals in which allow pets are not always the best in repair, or in neighborhood, so you will have to look a little longer to find one you like and are comfortable living in. Some Landlords require a deposit for pets because of damage that may occur while the property is being occupied by the tenants, from the pets. If you’re buying a property, then of course it wouldn’t be an issue because it’s your property.
The next thing to consider is having a pet sitter which I strongly recommend for large pets like dogs and cats. This can be done inexpensively by asking a family member or friend. There are places who will sit your pets for a small fee if you cannot find someone. One does not want to be moving things all over the place with a risk of hurting a pet or misplacing things, especially a small pet, something you might not want to lose. You have to be careful of even your small animals, their cage could get knocked over, or you could damage something like an aquarium. Now we managed to save all the fish but two of them, the fish tank, all 75 gallons, cracked and was no longer in working conditions. If there are boxes near an aquarium that gets damaged, you will need to move the boxes quickly or you may lose the contents of the boxes.
Getting upset will not change what happened, learn from the experience, then continue your move. When moving, you may want to hire a cheap moving truck, this will save on some extra stress. If you plan on having your personal vehicle shipped, you will need to find car hauling companies. There are a lot of companies that are better business bureau members.
Finding a good company is not as hard as it may seem. Depending on the pet, there are companies that specialize in their movement and care. Pets come in all sizes and types, but there are ways to safely move each one. If you take care with your pets, they will survive the move and bring joy to you for the years to come. Pets, like children, need to be watch constantly, so no one gets hurt or left behind. If you can not find a sitter for your pets while loading the truck, you will need to find a quiet part of the house, with a door that shuts tight, to keep them out from underfoot. You want to keep them safe so when you are finished you will have their companionship for years to come.
